| About Beginning as a theatre director at the University of Washington I was immediately attracted to quirky, off-beat and often darker plays. Realizing my work at UW had a unique cinematic style, I left for New York and attended the New York Film Academy where I directed and shot my first short film, “Strange Truth”. In addition, I was the cinematographer on the short film “A Clean-well Lighted Place” that won “Best Adapted Short” at the New York Int’l Film Festival. From there I worked on a number of independent films in Seattle and the CBS show, “The Fugitive”. In 2003, I began filming and directing the documentary film, “Hungry”, throughout Africa, Europe, and the US which will premiere this year. Parallel to directing, I also studied at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography with concentrations in landscape, fine art, and commercial photography which naturally expanded my cinematography. My first film, “Walk” premiered at the 2004 Cork Film Festival in Cork, Ireland. Having shot dozens of films and commercials I am always reaching for new ways to create images that rouse the viewers senses allowing them to connect on a more emotional and spiritual level.
